Synthetix è un protocollo di asset sintetici che consente l'emissione di asset sintetici su Ethereum. In pratica: ti dà un modo per ottenere esposizione a una risorsa senza doverla possedere.
Ma cosa può essere un asset sintetico, o “Synth”? Alcuni esempi sono criptovalute come BTC o ETH, materie prime come oro e argento e valute legali come USD.
Esistono anche synth inversi che tracciano l'inverso dell'attività sottostante, offrendo ai trader un modo semplice per ottenere un'esposizione di tipo short o coprire le partecipazioni esistenti.
L'idea è che utilizzando Synthetix, i trader possono ottenere esposizione a determinati asset che non esistono sulla blockchain
